On
behalf of the AIOPRA we would like to extend very
warm welcome to all, for visiting our associations website.
The years 2005-2006-2007 have been exceptional
years for all of us as we had achieved the highest ever level of
growth by processing crude oil by refining and process, as supplied
by M/s:- Crain Energy India Pty Ltd, Hazira installation. The performance
putting together is outstanding as all of us at individual capacity
process of 2,5000 MT p.a. of crude oil and with 50 members of our
association it is 12,50,000 MT which is 93 million barrels per year
(1 MT=7.5 Barrels), against all odd situations like: -
- Supply was not regular.
- Quality was always issue being waxy in nature.
- Many of our member products were not released.
- Price was at a hike. International crude oil price move as
against local finished Product price was not changed because local
oil company was subsidised by Govt. of India for their losses.
- Pour point of crude was above 20°C which is obstacle to
achieve high range distillate product.
Against all this odds our members refined 12.5 Lac MT which is
1.25 MMT. This was achieved by 34 members only. As per M/s: Crain
Energy India Pty Ltd Hazira., actual capacity of all members is
much more which is minimum to 3.7 MMT (Three times more) per annum
and refining margin is much lower than big oil companies due to
overheads and Coker refining technology. The capacity of 3.7 MMT
p.a. can be increased, if our associate members get smooth supply
of crude oil from govt. agencies. Such capacity cannot be neglected
as huge manpower is attached with it and further, lots of employment
can be achieved. Also some of our members are exporting value added
product at good sum quantity and value.
Inspite of India being a refiner hub of Asia and having such a good
infrastructure, it is neglected by govt. of India. For exports there
is no export promotion council, which is required at most and all
of us can export to neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Nepal,
Sri Lanka, Pakistan where refining facility is much low. Also upstream
oil companies are going to bring more oil to nation's growth, where
by diverting supply of ours from Crain to IOCL, Baroda. Govt. of
India made all of us non workable and uneasy which is very sad.
As the same crude was consumed by us was trail for all of us and
we made very good achievement in market that we can reach to very
good performance then why to consume a bad crude of M/s: Crain Energy
India Pty Ltd. Hazira. It is bad because of higher pour point &
waxy in nature, low amount of condensate and disturb supply position
& dictating demand for payment in advance before delivery made.
All these things make us uncomfortable and force us to go in search
of international suppliers and to import regular light sweet crude
oil parcel, which is the goal of our association. Also our refiners
had ability to process further world hazardous petroleum mix to
bring down it's risk level to lowest and clean fuel will be converted
as a result. We invite all developed nations to utilize our infrastructure.
The rising oil prices in the international market continue to remain
a cause of concern and for a country like India which imports over
75% of crude oil requirement the implication are quite serious where
our infrastructure can be more efficient due to low refining margin.
To maintain the growth of GDP where Indian economy a strong growth
trajectory, the Indian energy sector has the challenge of ensuring
that growth of economy is not going to be hampered due to energy
requirement and can be meet with our refining capacity as a participant.
To summarise this as under.
- To register our demand with govt. of India for smooth supply
of crude oil and with Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas,
New Delhi as letter sent already.
- To organize Import Parce, storage & financial arrangement
to sought for.
- To represent our association in international platform for
trade in oil & petroleum with capacity of 3.6 MMT p.a.
- To get transparency with local suppliers like ONGC, CARIN,
GSPC, OIL, GAIL, RIL, and Haldia for business development amongst
our member.
- To get legal opinion and assistance in matter of Central Excise
/ Sale Tax / Petroleum act.
- With warm welcome to appoint an Executive Secretary Mr. Abhijit
Bhattacharya of Petroleum Bazaar.
- Full time assistance of member will be available by appointing
associate secretaries to look after business of association.
- Entries of all new members will be with permission of three
committee members.
Our strength is going to be noticed in development
of nation growth like in field of environment to be protected by
Consumption carbon credit under Kyoto Protocol and companies in
developing countries earn certified emission reduction or by supplying
low carbon fuel to nation we will achieve carbon credit for each
time of carbon dioxide emission to work in globally against global
warming and ultimate under UN’s clean development mechanism
or CDM. As World Bank study has pegged the global market size for
carbon trading at USD 10 Billions. |
